Periscope
Periscope is a fully integrated advertising agency in the Minneapolis riverfront district that is privately held and boasting a team of over 200 with an innovative and growing interactive department. Clients include Arctic Cat, Cox Business Systems, Jockey, Metro Transit, Minneapolis Twins, Target, United Health Group, Volvo Penta and many more. Having already been asked why I would accept a reduction in my job title and move to a smaller agency I'll volunteer the answer is that I love being involved in creatively solving problems for clients and this move allowed me not only to do more of that but to be more deeply instrumental in each project's success. It also invigorated my creative spirit. My freelance work and personal projects flourished and I was been able to do more writing and drawing as well as ad to the experiences that influence my beliefs about how the creative process can best flourish.

Express Financial Advisor, Creative Department
The creative department produces support materials for company retirement
plans managed by AEFA for a diverse range of clients from Liz Claiborne
to the City of Irvine, California. There are approximately 10 designers
in the creative department and a host of support personnel including
Legal and a full service print shop. Much of the larger print runs
are jobed out to local shops.
The
University of California at Davis, Repro Graphics - Design Services
Located in California's fertile Central Valley, UC Davis is home
to a world class Viticulture and Enology program, has the top rated
Veterinary program in the country, a top notch med school and one
of the most comprehensive Agriculture programs in the world. The
Repro Graphics Department supports all the programs on campus and
thus has approximately 260 clients. Not only does the print and
web design work for these clients happen here but much of the printing
and finishing as well. It was amazing working for such a wide variety
of clients. Typically I would have 5 to 20 projects going simultaneously
and on any given day might do work for departments doing anything
from nuclear research to experimental horticulture, bioengineering
to theater. This was also a unique environment in that under the
guidance of the Director Marianne Post, on each project I basically
served as my own creative director, designer and production artist.
Meeting with clients, strategizing direction, purchasing or creating
artwork, proofing and even checking the film, blueline and colorkey
before it went to print, press checking and following up with the
client to make sure their socks were knocked off. Even though I
am working in digital media at the moment the years I spent here

Hugging the coast of Half Moon Bay, California, Godbe Communications
is strategically situated between the San Francisco Bay Area and
Silicon Valley. There is also a satellite office in San Diego, Ca.
Brian and Lesslie Godbe have many years of experience specializing
in the high tech and bio tech industries. They have a great agency,
small enough that there are no second string clients and focused
enough that no widow, orphan or obscure bit of scientific notation
goes unnoticed. Fueled by the pastry and orange juice Thursday mornings,
