Situation +
A talented bronze sculptor, James needed a mark that conveys the quality of his work without being derivative of his sculptures.

Result +
Blending is an important concept for James. For his logo I overlapped the two words, the "O" and "C" coming together to represent a top down view of the kiln employed in the lost wax method. A finger of flame and steam erupting from the kiln provides an optional element suggestive of the 1800 degree temperatures present in the blast furnace. Colors were selected from the array of patinas applied to the sculptures.
